Content:
The book tells the story of Marcel Goldman, born in Krakow in 1926. He survived the Holocaust and started economic studies in Krakow, but completed them in Israel. It was in Israel that he became a respected banker. The subject of the analysis is the phenomenon of Israel’s social and economic development: its causes and circumstances. Following the main character, we take a close look at the birth of the private banking sector and the construction of modern economy in Israel. The book also deals with the life of Polish Jews in Israel, the way in which they acclimatized there, and built the prosperity of the state. The example of Marcel Goldman shows that Israel’s success is the sum of its citizens’ successes.
