Der Kultautor (vgl. "Bad monkeys", BA 3/08) lässt sich auf kein Genre festlegen. Dieses Mal legt er einen Politthriller aus einer faszinierenden Perspektive vor: Terroristen aus den USA haben am 09.11.2001 die beiden riesigen Zwillingstürme in Bagdad zum Einsturz gebracht. Die Vereinigten Arabischen Staaten (VAS) versuchen mithilfe ihres befreundeten Staates Israel, der übrigens nach dem 2. Weltkrieg auf dem Gebiet Deutschlands neu gegründet wurde, den Terrorismus fundamentaler Christen zu bekämpfen. Ein Heimatschutz wurde eingerichtet, der auch verdächtige mächtige Männer aus dem Inland im Visier hat und z.B. gegen den Boss der Baath-Gewerkschaft Saddam Hussein und den Senator Bin Laden ermittelt. Samir, Mustafa und Amal, die Tochter der Bürgermeisterin von Bagdad, arbeiten für den Heimatschutz und werden 8 Jahre nach dem Anschlag auf die Zwillingstürme mit den merkwürdigen Behauptungen konfrontiert, sie würden in einer Parallelwelt leben und eigentlich seien die USA das gelobte, hochtechnisierte Land. Ein ungemein spannender, geschickt aufgebauter Thriller, gern empfohlen (vgl. Hörbuch in dieser Nr.).
