Extra für Kinder, für eine Ausstellung in Zürich 1983, hat Andy Warhol (1928-87), der Superstar der Pop-Art, Bilder von Spielzeug gemacht: z.B. von Schiff, Flugzeug, Polizeiauto, Papagei, Affe, Clown, Spielzeug-Panda, Astronaut, jedes Motiv in verschiedenen Farben. Aber nicht nur um diese Bilder geht es hier, sie werden im Rahmen von Biografie und Gesamtwerk gezeigt. Dabei wird darauf abgehoben, dass auch andere seiner Bilder Kinder begeistern können, Bilder, die Anregung bieten für eigene kreative Arbeiten: etwa die Rorschach-Gemälde (Klecksbilder), die Schattenbilder, die Selbstbildnisse. Der Leser wird aufgefordert, Ähnliches zu probieren, mit Schatten zu experimentieren, Fotos zu verändern, Erinnerungsstücke unter bestimmten Aspekten in Kartons zu sammeln ("Zeitkapseln" nannte das Warhol).
