Im Rahmen dieser Studie wird rekonstruiert, wie Erwachsene, die infolge wiederholter Erlebnisse personaler Gewalt Traumata durch andere Menschen erfahren haben, ihre Lebensgeschichten biografisch bearbeiten. Zum zweiten wird untersucht, wie Handlungsmöglichkeiten und Handlungsbegrenzungen dabei bedeutsam werden. Wie die Ergebnisse zeigen, verhindert das fragmentierte biografische Erzählen der Biograf*innen ihre Erzähl- und Handlungsfähigkeit nicht. Ungeachtet entmächtigender, das Mitteilen erschwerender Gewalterlebnisse bietet ihre brüchige Erzählweise vielmehr die Möglichkeit, sich selbst als handlungsfähige*r Akteur*in zu präsentieren. Vor diesem Hintergrund erweist sich die dekonstruierende Selbstthematisierung als eine Form biografischer Bearbeitung, die Erzähl- und Handlungsfähigkeit ermöglicht. Die Autorin Christin Schörmann ist Verwalterin der Professur für Soziale Arbeit in der Rehabilitation an der Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften und Kunst in Holzminden. Ihre wissenschaftlichen Schwerpunkte sind: Soziale Arbeit im Handlungsfeld Gesundheitshilfe, traumasensible Soziale Arbeit und rekonstruktive Forschung, insbesondere Biografieforschung.
