Otto Rosenberg erzählt unbeschwerte Kinderszenen aus der Zeit vor der nationalsozialistischen Gesellschaftszersetzung. Er schildert in schlichten Worten, wie sich die braune Wolke erst nach und nach in das Alltagsleben der deutschen Sinti und Roma schob. Im Jahr 1936 wurde der sechsjährige Otto Rosenberg als Mensch "artfremden Blutes" mit seiner Familie ins "Zigeunerlager" Marzahn umgesiedelt, dort von den NS- "Zigeunerforschern" Robert Ritter und Eva Justin untersucht, und 1943 nach Auschwitz deportiert. Ein Großteil seiner Familie wurde dort ermordet, Otto Rosenberg aber kam nach Buchenwald, Dora und Bergen-Belsen - und überlebte. Von diesem schicksalhaften Davongekommensein und dem Weiterleben in Deutschland berichtet Rosenberg erschütternd, einprägsam und lakonisch. Der Schriftsteller Ulrich Enzensberger hat die Geschichte behutsam aufgezeichnet und mit klugen Anmerkungen versehen. Ein notwendiges, aktuelles Buch, angesichts des noch immer erschreckend gesellschaftsfähigen Antiziganismus.
