Schwerpunkt des Buches: die Vielfalt der Einflussfaktoren menschlichen Verhaltens, die im Wesentlichen die individuelle Persönlichkeit ausmachen: Bausteine der Intelligenz (als Basis beruflicher Stärken), charakteristische Denk- (etwa Zukunftsorientierung) und Verhaltensmuster sowie Persönlichkeitseigenschaften (Beispiel: Durchsetzungsvermögen), mit eigenem Kapitel zur Motivation (die individuelle Bedürfnisstruktur ist letztlich auch ein Persönlichkeitsmerkmal). Ausgebreitet wird ein methodisches Instrumentarium aus relevanten Modellen, die den Menschen doch wieder in Schablonen pressen, dafür aber eben so schön einfach zu handhaben sind, ergänzt um ausgesuchte Management- (Balanced Scorecard!), Führungs- und Kommunikationstechniken. Löbliches Ziel: Situatives, das heißt zu den in Führungssituationen vorherrschenden Einflussfaktoren passendes Führungsverhalten zu praktizieren und optimale Personalauswahlentscheidungen zu treffen.
