Op 18 juni 2015 is het tweehonderd jaar geleden dat Napoleon zijn Waterloo vond. Over de strijd zijn talloze Engelse, Franse en Duitse boeken, films en documentaires verschenen. In België en Nederland is de aandacht voor de slag bij Waterloo altijd veel geringer geweest. Dat is vreemd, want ook Belgen en Nederlanders vochten mee en hun aandeel was belangrijker dan men vaak denkt. In dit rijk geïllustreerde boek wordt hun verhaal verteld. Jurriën de Jong is historicus en werkzaam bij het Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek. Ben Schoenmaker is verbonden aan het NIMH en de Universiteit Leiden en is gespecialiseerd in negentiende- en twintigste-eeuwse militaire geschiedenis. Jeroen van Zanten is universitair docent Nederlandse geschiedenis aan de UvA. Hij schreef eerder de biografie over koning Willem II
