Während Benedict Wells seit 2008 mit vier Romanen in der literarischen Welt Respekt errang (zuletzt "Vom Ende der Einsamkeit", IN-G 14/16), widmete er sich dazwischen auch der kleineren Form. Die zehn sehr unterschiedlichen Erzählungen, die hier versammelt sind, handeln von Niederlagen, Pannen und Enttäuschungen, von Träumen, von der Wahl zwischen Liebe und Erfolg und natürlich von Lügen, sind komisch, überraschend, berührend. Zwei Erzählungen waren Teile des o.g. Romans, die aus dem Originaltext herausgekürzt werden mussten. Besonders eindrucksvoll (und umfangreich) ist die titelgebende Geschichte, in der sich ein junger Mann, dem es nicht gelingt, im Filmgeschäft Fuß zu fassen, im Jahr 1973 wiederfindet. Dort hat er den Einfall, sich George Lucas' Ideen für den Film Star Wars anzueignen und den Film selbst zu realisieren. Ihm bleiben dafür nur vier Jahre und er muss auch einen Plagiatsprozess mit Lucas überstehen ... - Mit Verve lässt sich Schauspieler Robert Stadlober auf die Erzählungen ein und findet mit seiner vielseitigen Interpretation für die zahlreichen Beteiligten eigene Stimmen und Nuancen.
