Die zunehmende Prekarisierung der Arbeitswelt mit ihren gesellschaftlichen Folgen befeuert die Diskussionen um ein bedingungsloses Grundeinkommen. Bei diesem handelt es sich jedoch nicht um ein einheitliches sozialpolitisches Konzept, sondern um eine Idee, die so vielfältig ist wie ihre Befürworter. Bei der Frage nach den Realisierungschancen eines Grundeinkommens muss diese Diversität zweifellos Berücksichtigung finden. Eric Schröder stellt eine wissenschaftlich anschlussfähige und somit von politisch-normativen Interessenlagen losgelöste Systematisierung des Grundeinkommensdiskurses vor. Die Grundeinkommensliteratur der letzten 40 Jahre wird zu vier Idealtypen verdichtet, denen jeweils im Kern ein spezielles Arbeits-, Ordnungs- und Freiheitsverständnis zugrunde liegt. Die Typen werden ausführlich im Hinblick auf Problemanalyse, Ausgestaltung, Zielstellung und Kritik dargestellt und miteinander in Beziehung gesetzt. Darüber hinaus werden mithilfe der innovativen Q-Methode 30 politische Akteure befragt und im skizzierten Möglichkeitsraum verortet. Der Autor gibt grundlegende Einsichten in die Vielfalt der Grundeinkommenskonzeptionen und stellt die Frage, ob die Idee angesichts dieser Diversität konsensfähig und somit umsetzbar ist.
