Der Band arbeitet theoretische Hintergründe, Merkmale und Leitlinien einer Caring Community (CC), also einer Gemeinschaft in einem Quartier, einer Gemeinde oder einer Region, in der Menschen füreinander sorgen und sich gegenseitig unterstützen, auf. Es existiert eine Vielzahl von Modellen, die unter CC subsumiert werden, allerdings fehlt bisher insbesondere die wissenschaftliche Auseinandersetzung und ein entsprechender Diskurs. Diese Lücke will der vorliegende Band schließen und dabei neben grundsätzlichen Überlegungen aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven auch Beispiele aus der Praxis einbeziehen. Die Herausgeber Dr. Robert Sempach ist Initiant des Netzwerks Caring Communities Schweiz und selbständiger Community Berater. Dr. Christoph Steinebach ist Professor für Angewandte Entwicklungspsychologie an der Züricher Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften, ZHAW Zürich.
