Sie alle haben ihre Geschichte, ihre Erfahrung, wie sich aus der Unterhaltung die sie führen, erschließt. Bis plötzlich einer einzelne Gegenstände wegholt und neu zum Einsatz bringt, in einer fantastisch konstruierten Maschine, die sich bewegt und rattert und lärmt. Es ist eine Maschinenskulptur, wie sie ähnlich der Schweizer Künstler Jean Tinguely geschaffen hat, über dessen Leben und Werk auf den beiden letzten Seiten informiert wird. Die Illustratorin holt die Dinge nah heran, stellt sie groß heraus: Amboss, Hammer, Blasebalg; Hände, die nach dem Rad greifen, nach einer Eisenkette. Eine Doppelseite zeigt das fertige neue Maschinengebilde. Die Leichtigkeit und Verspieltheit der Arbeiten Tinguelys, ihre Faszination, teilt sich hier allerdings nur bedingt mit.
