Dieses Buch zur Dynamik von Schienenfahrzeugen entstand aus den Manuskripten zur gleichnamigen Lehrveranstaltung an der TU Berlin. Es wendet sich an Studenten im Hauptstudium mit Vorkenntnissen der Mathematik und Mechanik und an Ingenieure aus der Praxis. Ausführlich werden alle wichtigen Phänomene der Lauftechnik von Schienenfahrzeugen abgeleitet und erläutert. Das Buch enthält aber auch neue Erkenntnisse aus Forschung und Bahnpraxis. Schwerpunkt sind die Darstellung der komplexen Vorgänge im Rad-Schiene Kontakt, die zum Verständnis der Probleme der Laufstabilität von Schienenfahrzeugen unverzichtbar sind. Der Leser soll am Ende in der Lage sein, die Hintergründe von Rechenprogrammen zu verstehen, die heute in der Praxis im Einsatz sind.
