Für die Berliner Bildhauerin und Grafikerin Louise Stomps (1900-1988) waren Mensch und Natur als Urquelle alles Lebendigen ein Leben lang Inspiration ihrer Kreativität. Die schutzlose Kreatur und das menschliche Leid stehen im Zentrum ihres Schaffens. Ihr organisch-figürliches und seit den 1960er-Jahren zunehmend abstraktes Werk wird zum ersten Mal im internationalen Kontext betrachtet. Zwischen den ausklingenden 1920er- und den späten 1980er-Jahren schuf die Bildhauerin Louise Stomps (1900-1988) ein umfangreiches bildhauerisches OEuvre. Frühe Arbeiten der Berliner Jahre stehen neben zum Teil überlebensgrossen Skulpturen, die ab 1960 in einer alten Mühle im oberbayerischen Wasserburger Land am Inn entstanden sind. Fachkundige Erläuterungen und persönliche Erinnerungen machen neben exquisiten Neuaufnahmen der Skulpturen in St in, Holz und Bronze ihr vielgestaltiges Werk umfänglich bekannt.
