Hartmut Griesmayrs Film "Notwehr" beruht auf einer wahren Geschichte. Mitte der 70er Jahre wurde in einem deutschen Dorf ein Zigeuner erschossen und der Schütze wurde aufgrund seiner Behauptung in Notwehr gehandelt zu haben, freigesprochen. Die für die damalige und auch für die heutige Zeit brisante Geschichte zeigt eine hochkarätige Besetzung: "Berlin Alexanderplatz" und "Das Boot" – Star Günter Lamprecht, Jochen Striebeck, Marie-Luise Marjan (ebenfalls "Berlin Alexanderplatz" und auch bekannt als "Mutter Beimer" aus der "Lindenstrasse"), Friedrich von Thun, Eric Schumann und Diether Krebs als Manager der noch damals unbekannten Band Guru Guru. Der bekannte Autor Bernd Schroeder entdeckte die Band für seinen Film gab ihnen die Rolle der "Rattenfänger". Mani Neumeier: " Praktisch über Nacht waren wir auf einmal in ganz Deutschland bekannt geworden". Guru Guru gehört zu den weltweit erfolgreichsten deutschen Bands und ist inzwischen in Japan eine der führenden Underground Bands. Über 700.000 weltweit verkaufte Alben und weltweite Tourneen haben diese stark politisch geprägte Gruppe um ihren Schlagzeuger Mani Neumeier zu einer Legende gemacht. "Notwehr" ist ein Juwel deutscher Filmkunst mit einem hohen politischen Anspruch und gehört zu den Klassikern der deutschen Fernsehunterhaltung. [aviator-entertainment.com]
