Nach dem internationalen Erfolg von "Das Huhn, das vom Fliegen träumte" (vgl. ID-A 21/14) hier nun ein weiterer Titel der koreanischen Literaturprofessorin. Im Mittelpunkt dieser Geschichte steht die Mischlingshündin Zotti und ihre Familie. Zotti ist schon als Welpe ein Außenseiter. Schwarz, zottig und wenig folgsam erobert sie das Herz ihres Herrchens, der immer nur Großvater Griesgram genannt wird. Ein Trödler, der mit seiner Frau in ärmlichen Verhältnissen lebt und für den die Hundezucht einen kleinen Nebenerwerb darstellt. Zotti verliert ein ums andere Geschwisterchen und schließlich bei einem Überfall auch seine Mutter. Schließlich hat sie selbst Nachwuchs und auch von diesem muss sie sich gegen ihren Willen immer wieder verabschieden, um am Ende zu erkennen, dass es ihren Welpen auch ohne sie gut gehen kann. Für koreanische Verhältnisse mag es sich um einen aufmüpfigen Hund handeln, hierzulande beschäftigt man sich eher mit der passenden Biokost für den Liebling. Dieses Buch wird trotz der ansprechenden Ausstattung eher schwerlich an den Erfolg des Vorgängertitels anknüpfen können. Marianne Fix
