Bilder der Welt und Inschrift des Krieges (1988): "Essayfilm", der sich in historischen Diskursen dem Zusammenhang von Wahrnehmung und industrieller Produktion annimmt: er spürt der Fotografie nach und der Verwertung der Bilder, und fragt, wie sich in den Bildern, die man sich von der Welt macht, der Krieg eingeschrieben hat. Dabei konzentriert er sich auf eine Fotografie des Konzentrationslagers Auschwitz, das am 4. April 1944 aus einer Höhe von 7000 Metern von einem amerikanischen Bomber aus aufgenommen wurde. Erst 33 Jahre später wurde es aus den Archiven geholt und ausgewertet. Damals wurde die Todesfabrik Auschwitz nicht entdeckt, weil man nicht den Auftrag hatte, sie zu suchen. Ein ebenso anspruchsvoller wie faszinierender Film, der den Blick des Zuschauers binden will, ohne ihn zu lenken. - Ab 16. [Film-Dienst]
