Gerechtigkeit, Recht und Rechtfertigung sind normative Begriffe. Sie spiegeln, dass die Wirklichkeiten nicht sind, wie sie sein sollen. Das Recht soll in Gerechtigkeit gründen; Sätze und Handlungen sollen zu rechtfertigen sein. Weder die Idee des Rechts - die Gerechtigkeit - noch das positive Recht können als von der Natur oder der Geschichte gegebene Objektivität verstanden werden, die von den Rechtssubjekten nur noch anzuerkennen wäre. Das Wissen und das Handeln entwickeln sich in Kontexten epistemischer und praktischer Kulturen, in denen die Verständnisse des Guten, des Gerechten, der Anerkennung und der Versöhnung voneinander abweichen können. Diese Probleme werden - kontrovers und im Geist der Kritik - in der transkulturellen Perspektive des arabisch-deutschen UNESCO-Dialogs erörtert, an dem sich Spezialisten der Epistemologie, der politischen Philosophie und der Philosophie- und Religionsgeschichte, vor allem des Islams, beteiligen
