"September 1970: eine Insel im Ausnahmezustand. Zehntausende Menschen pilgern nach Fehmarn, damals noch eine verschlafene Urlaubsinsel, um das bis dahin größte Open-Air-Festival in der Geschichte Westdeutschlands zu feiern. Doch das "Woodstock des Nordens" wird zum Desaster. Es regnet in Strömen. Die Bühne steht Richtung Meer und gegen den auflandigen Wind Stärke 10 kommen die Lautsprecher nicht an. Einige Bands weigern sich deshalb aufzutreten. Nicht so Jimi Hendrix. Er tritt auf, aber es wird sein letztes Open-Air-Konzert sein. Zwölf Tage später stirbt der beste Rockgitarrist seiner Zeit. Die Berliner Fotografin Frauke Bergemann ist mit der Dokumentation des Festivals beauftragt. Sie steht mit Jimi Hendrix auf der Bühne und schießt das Foto seines letzten großen Auftritts. "Ein Foto erzählt Geschichte" geht zurück an den Ort, an dem zwei Welten aufeinander prallten und eine neue Open-Air-Kultur in Deutschland geboren wurde." [www.ndr.de]
