El libro presenta la edición crítica de un conjunto de textos poéticos y teatrales de finales del siglo xvii y comienzos del xviii del propio Castellví y de otros escritores que, o bien pertenecían al círculo de intelectuales que se reunían en los salones del palacio de los marqueses de Villatorcas, propiedad de la familia de Juan Basilio, o bien eran las referencias literarias de la joven generación de intelectuales denominados novatores.
