Diese Einspielung von Instrumentalkonzerten von Clara und Robert Schumann zeigt das sich wandelnde Verhältnis beider zur Virtuosität. Der späte Robert Schumann findet in seinem Konzertstück für 4 Hörner und Orchester op. 86 die ideale Balance zwischen der Virtuosität der Soloinstrumente einzeln oder als Quartett und dem stark besetzten Orchester, mit dem die Solisten im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes "konzertieren", d.h. wetteifern. Das Klavierkonzert des 29-Jährigen blieb dagegen Fragment, ebenso das 2. Klavierkonzert von Clara Schumann. Die Fragmente wurden mit großem stilistischem Einfühlungsvermögen ergänzt und orchestriert. Das frühe Klavierkonzert der 16-jährigen Clara Wieck, ein romantisches Virtuosenkonzert, ist jedoch ein genialer Wurf, mit dem sie sich in die Reihe ihrer angesehenen männlichen Komponistenkollegen einreihte. - Eine ob ihres Repertoires interessante Produktion, der weite Verbreitung zu wünschen ist. pr
