Yun-Ju Wang stellt die Rezeptionsgeschichte der deutschen Grundrechte als Rechtsinstitution in Taiwan dar, dessen Rechtssystem von der chinesischen traditionellen Auffassung zum westlichen modernen Rechtssystem überging. Die Autorin untersucht, inwieweit die Auffassung der Grundrechtsgewährleistung als Rechtsinstitution rezipiert wurde, solange das deutsche Grundrechtsverständnis eine tragende Rolle spielte und wie die weitere Verwirklichung der Grundrechte in Taiwan auf dem Wege zum Verfassungsstaat nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg durchgesetzt wurde. Sie stellt abschließend dar, wie der Paradigmenwechsel der Grundrechtsgewährung vom autoritären zum neuen, demokratisierten und liberalisierten Zustand des Verfassungsstaats seit 1987 in Taiwan theoretisch und praktisch vollzogen wurde.
