Die Mütter werden als Erziehungs- und Gesprächspartner von den 15-Jährigen nicht akzeptiert und so bleibt ihnen nur die Sorge umeinander, die jedoch durch das männlich geprägte Defizit, Gefühle zu zeigen und über Probleme zu reden, begrenzt wird. Ute Wegmann beschreibt in diesem Episodenroman die alltägliche Geschichte von Jungen und sie blinzelte dabei offenbar nach dem Erfolgsroman "Doing it" von Burgess. Auch dort wird auf Sex gewettet, auch dort wird ein Held von einer älteren Dame sexuell missbraucht. Was Burgess aber weitaus besser kann, ist authentische Dialoge setzen und zudem eine Geschichte erzählen. Hier zerfällt der Plot, die Autorin stümpert mit Jugendsprache und die Dialoge überzeugen nicht. Den wesentlich flotter geratenen 2. Teil werden männliche Leser nicht mehr erleben. Sie haben aufgegeben! Schade, denn Idee und Ansatz überzeugen durchaus. Das Cover spricht an.
