Bedeutende Autoren wie Roxin sehen in Richard Honig einen Vorläufer der modernen Lehre von der objektiven Zurechnung. Demgegenüber erscheint bereits bei oberflächlicher Lektüre seines Beitrags zweifelhaft, ob Honig nicht vielmehr als Wegbereiter des Finalismus anzusehen ist. Eine intensive Auseinandersetzung mit Honig war allein aus diesem Grunde überfällig und dringend geboten. Honigs persönlicher Werdegang stand unter einem denkbar ungünstigen Stern. Als politisch unliebsamer Wissenschaftler, der zudem noch jüdischer Herkunft war, verlor er als einer der ersten Göttinger Universitätslehrer nach der "Machtergreifung" Hitlers seine Professur. Das hatte nicht nur zur Folge, dass er zunächst im Exil Zuflucht suchen musste, sondern auch, dass sein wissenschaftliches Werk in Deutschland zunächst an Beachtung verlor und von ihm weder fortgeführt noch verteidigt werden konnte. In wissenschaftlicher Hinsicht wird Honig nicht nur mit dem teleologischen Rechtsgutsbegriff, sondern auch mit dem Begriff der objektiven Zurechnung in Verbindung gebracht. Der Autor zeigt auf, welche seiner Gedanken zutreffend, welche aber auch inadäquat aufgegriffen wurden
