Als die Chirurgin Sonja nach einem Behandlungsfehler von ihrer Chefärztin eine Auszeit verordnet bekommt, zieht sie sich in eine Ferienpension auf Amrum zurück, die ihrer Schulfreundin Anne gehört. Sie spürt, dass die Trennung von ihrem Freund Steffen noch lange nicht überwunden ist und sie beruflich überlastet ist. Alle Lebenspläne sind auf einmal infrage gestellt. In der Pension trifft sie auf Patrick und Wilhelm. Dieser hat lange Jahre in Irland gelebt und dort noch ein Cottage. Die 3 beschließen, nach Irland zu fahren. Anfangs stoßen Wilhelms Geschichten über die mythische Welt der Elfen und Cluricaune bei Sonja auf wenig Begeisterung. Doch dann bewirken die irische Landschaft und die Menschen, denen sie begegnet bei Sonja Offenheit und Neubeginn und das Leben nimmt eine überraschende Wende. Carin Winter, Autorin einiger Inselromane der Ostsee (zuletzt "Das Haus hinter den Dünen", ID-A 24/14) ist hier ein locker leichtes Urlaubsbuch gelungen; manchmal vielleicht ein bisschen zu sehr heile Welt. Trotzdem breit empfohlen, vor allem überall da, wo die anderen Titel der Autorin gerne gelesen werden. Brunhilde Wichert-Haslett
