Anders als z.B. Oskar Schindler oder die Mitglieder der Weißen Rose ist Albert Göring, der jüngere Bruder des Reichsmarschalls Hermann Göring, in Deutschland kaum bekannt. Dabei rettete er mit seiner Art des"inneren"Widerstandes viele Juden und auch politisch Verfolgte vor der Internierung und dem Tod. Von Beginn an ein überzeugter Gegner des Nationalsozialismus trater immer wieder für dessen Opfer ein und scheute sich auch nicht, den Einfluss seines Bruders hinter dessen Rücken auszunutzen. Er erbettelte sich Freistellungen, fälschte Unterschriften und sabotierte die Arbeit in den tschechischen Skodawerken, für die er als Repräsentant tätig war. Mehrmals musste ihn sein Bruder zähneknirschend aus der Haft der Gestapo befreien, um nicht selbst in Gefahr zu geraten. Nach dem Ende des Dritten Reiches wurde Albert Göring ohne konkrete Anschuldigungen allein aufgrund seines Namens interniert und verbrachte zwei Jahrein verschiedenen Gefängnissen, bis die zahlreichen Interventionen der von ihm Geretteten endlich zu seiner Freilassung führten. Albert Göring starb verarmt und vergessen 1966.
