Was aus ihren Idealen wurde, wie sich jüdisches Leben in kleinen Gemeinden neu konstituierte und wie sich die gesellschaftlichen Umbrüche auf das Selbstverständnis der Jüdinnen und Juden in der DDR auswirkten, ist Thema dieses Bandes. Mit der kulturgeschichtlichen Ausstellung "Ein anderes Land" nimmt das Jüdische Museum Berlin vielstimmige jüdische Erfahrungen in der DDR in den Blick und macht damit einen bislang wenig beachteten Teil deutscher Nachkriegsgeschichte sichtbar.
