Die eindringliche Milieuschilderung aus dem Berliner Stadtteil Wedding weitet sich zur Beschreibung der Arbeiterbewegung Ende der 1920er-Jahre, wobei der Einfluss der Umwelt auf das Verhalten der Menschen in eindringlichen Bildern verdeutlicht wird.
