Künstler wie Kandinsky, Henry Moore, Georg Baselitz und Gerhard Richter wurden von ihm gefördert. Er führte die Dresdner Kunstsammlungen in die Moderne - und ging dann von Dresden aus in die Welt. Will Grohmann schrieb für die Feuilletons der führenden deutschen Zeitungen und arbeitete für den RIAS. Sein Urteil war gefragt und hatte damit auch die Macht, Schicksal zu spielen.
