Se presenta aquí El Tuzaní de la Alpujarra o Amor después de la muerte, comedia histórica de amor y tragedia ubicada durante la rebelión morisca de las Alpujarras (1567-1571). En la introducción, se discuten los varios títulos de la comedia y se propone el abandono del título Amar después de la muerte, popularizado por Vera Tassis; se pone en cuestión la atribución tradicional de una postura ideológica pro morisca a Calderón; y se lleva a cabo un estudio exhaustivo de la transmisión textual, que incluye la identificación de una suelta significativa que precede a la edición de Vera Tassis (1691). Esta edición está basada en la Quinta Parte 'Barcelona' (1677) y cuenta con notas explicativas relevantes a la contextualización de la obra dramática frente a la historiografía de la época sobre la rebelión.
