Content: The Sri Ksetra Museum Inventory provides public access to this significant collection for the first time. The Inventory records the majority of the Museum collection up until 2015. Nearly all of the artefacts date to Myanmar’s Pyu period of the first millennium. Many of the objects have been documented for the first time, having been kept in storage in some cases unseen for nearly one hundred years. As only a limited amount of collection material can be publicly displayed in the Museum the Inventory provides immediate access to resource materials that would otherwise be out of reach. From intact votive tablets in diverse styles, to fragments of terracotta plaques and stone sculptures this is the most comprehensive collection of Pyu material culture in Myanmar. With the rise of interest in Pyu scholarship since the UNESCO listing of The Pyu Ancient Cities in 2014, this inventory, which also includes more recent finds from the important Pyu site of Khin Ba, will broaden scholars’ appreciation of Pyu culture and open avenues for future research across many disciplines.

Content: While the very existence of global literary studies as an institutionalised field is not yet fully established, the global turn in various disciplines in the humanities and the social sciences has been gaining traction in recent years. This book aims to contribute to the field of global literary studies with a more inclusive and decentralising approach. Specifically, it responds to a double demand: the need for expanding openness to other ways of seeing the global literary space by including multiple literary and cultural traditions and other interdisciplinary perspectives in the discussion, and the need for conceptual models and different case studies that will help develop a global approach in four key avenues of research: global translation flows and translation policies, the post-1989 novel as a global form, global literary environments, and a global perspective on film and cinema history. Content: Gorani refers to under-documented, endangered varieties spoken in a cluster within the Zagros mountains (Iran/Iraq). These varieties possess conservative features of importance to linguists. However, their study has been plagued by nomenclature and taxonomy issues. Traditional names for these languages have been supplanted first by orientalists' prescriptions and then by their linguist heirs. Inaccurate terminology has sewn discord between speaker communities, disturbing the sociolinguistic landscape. This volume represents the state of the art of Gorani's historical and socio-linguistics, documentation, and literature, as well as an effort to aid the "decolonization" of Gorani linguistics.

Content: Le 12 epistole di Dante Alighieri costituiscono un eccezionale documento sulla sua vita dopo il bando dalla città di Firenze (1302). Oltre al valore biografico, esse sono opere letterarie a tutto tondo, che spaziano dalla scrittura «di servizio» (nelle lettere redatte su commissione della moglie di Simone di Guido Guidi) all'autocommento (nelle epistole al marchese Malaspina e a Cino di Pistoia, che accompagnavano dei testi poetici) e al manifesto politico (soprattutto nelle cosiddette «arrighiane»). Questo volume è il primo dedicato alle lettere dantesche, e offre finalmente al lettore i risultati di due momenti di incontro e discussione sviluppati a Venezia, Università Ca' Foscari, nel 2016 e 2017, nell'ambito di un progetto ERC BIFLOW. Più di 20 specialisti di diverse discipline (filologia, storia, letteratura) si sono misurati con questi testi, fornendone una interpretazione puntuale, sviluppando nuove letture, inserendoli nel contesto sociale e intellettuale del tempo, collocandoli nella tormentata biografia di Dante. Oggetto dell'interesse dei contributi è anche la sparuta, ma assai qualificata, tradizione manoscritta dei testi, che viene studiata tenendo presente sia gli illustri copisti (Giovanni Boccaccio; il notaio, poi vescovo, Francesco Piendibeni da Montepulciano) sia i contesti di trasmissione. Notevole spazio è anche dato alle competenze epistolografiche di Dante e al rapporto tra la sua scrittura e la tradizione del dictamen.

Content: Notwithstanding an impressive amount of secondary literature, an exhaustive study has been never devoted to the twelve letters written by Dante Alighieri after his banishment from Florence (1302-1315). This book answers to this important need of Dante Studies, offering an important tool for the increasing community of specialists interested in Dante's works and posterity linked to the seventh centenary of his death (2021). A section is devoted to study in depth the theory and practice of the dictamen of the age in relationship with the concrete style of Dante's texts. A preliminary overview is provided by Latin Philologists and Paleographers on the subject of the manuscript trasmission envisaging the problems dealing with the critical editions of the texts. Example of political communication realized by a layman, the papers gathered in this volume intend to offer a new reading and interpretation of these important letters, studying them in their socio-cultural context.

The Dhāraṇīsaṃgraha collections have been present in South Asia, and especially in Nepal, for more than eight hundred years and served to supply protection, merit and auspiciousness for those who commissioned their compilation. For modern scholarship, these diverse compendiums are valuable sources of incantations and related texts, many of which survive in Sanskrit only in such manuscripts.
