Content: This book has expanded classic concept of immunology. Immunoglobulins have been widely discovered to be produced by many non-B cells. The non B cell-derived Igs display multifunction, which not only includes antibody activities and cellular biological functions under physiological conditions, but also directly participate in the pathological process of malignant tumour and immune-related diseases. This book provides new perspectives and a solid foundation for medical students, basic and clinical scientists to re-understand and broaden the physiological and pathological significance of Ig.
Note: Chapter 1 The history of appreciation of immunoglobulin and the discovery of non-B cell derived immunoglobulins -- Chapter 2 Expression profile of non B-Ig in different lineage cells -- Chapter 3 Unique V(D)J recombination characteristics and repertoire of non B-Ig -- Chapter 4 Unique regulation mechanismof non B-Ig gene -- Chapter 5 Unique structure and function of non B-Ig -- Chapter 6 Comparison of non B-Ig and B-Ig -- Chapter 7 Functionsand clinical relevanceof non-B cell derived immunoglobulin in liver -- Chapter 8 Significance of non-Bcell derived immunoglobulins in renal disease -- Chapter 9 Functions and clinical significance of myocardial cell-derived Immunoglobulins -- Chapter 10 Biological functions and clinical significance of intestinal non B-Immunoglobulins -- Chapter 11 Function of IgG and IgA in normal human skin -- Chapter 12 Significance of cancer-derived IgG in lung cancer -- Chapter 13 Significance of cancer-derived IgG in breast cancer -- Chapter 14 Significance of cancer-derived IgG in pancreatic cancer -- Chapter 15 Biological functions and clinical significance of non B-Ig in hemopoietic system.

Content: Even a cursory look at conference programs and proceedings reveals a burgeoning interest in the field of social and affective factors in home language maintenance and development. To date, however, research on this topic has been published in piecemeal fashion, subsumed under the more general umbrella of ‘bilingualism’. Within bilingualism research, there has been an extensive exploration of linguistic and psycholinguistic perspectives on the one hand, and educational practices and outcomes on the other. In comparison, social and affective factors – which lead people to either maintain or shift the language – have been under-researched. This is the first volume that brings together the different strands in research on social and affective factors in home language maintenance and development, ranging from the micro-level (family language policies and practices), to the meso-level (community initiatives) and the macro-level (mainstream educational policies and their implementation). The volume showcases a wide distribution across contexts and populations explored. Contributors from around the world represent different research paradigms and perspectives, providing a rounded overview of the state-of-the-art in this flourishing field.

Content: This collection combines a systematic treatment of Nietzsche as a reader with case studies investigating specific readings. These focus on the marginal notes in the books in his personal library, while also addressing excerpts from his works. Source and reception research is strategically combined with context-oriented interpretation

Content: Factionalism is widely understood to be a distinguishing characteristic of Chinese politics. In this book, first published in 2000, Jing Huang examines the role of factionalism in leadership relations and policy-making. His detailed knowledge of intra-party politics offers an alternative understanding of still-disputed struggles behind the high walls of leadership in Zhongnanhai. Huang traces the development of factional politics from its roots in the 'mountaintops' and the enduring impact of the personal bonds formed between Mao and his supporters at the Yan'an Round Table. Critiquing the predominant theories on leadership and decision-making, he explains that it is not power struggles that give rise to factionalism, but rather the existence of 'factionalism that turns power into an overriding goal in CCP politics'. Huang explains why policy outcomes switched constantly between 'Left-adventurism' and 'Right-conservatism' under Mao's reign and between 'emancipation of mind' and 'socialist spiritual civilization' in the Deng era.
