    Description: Three arguments are made for the correlated streams of consciousness model of reality, with the nonlocal hidden variables produced by a "metabrain." The first argument is based on entangled particles. The second is based on the mutual causality between the "mental" world and the "physical" thus uniting the two. The third is based on quantum statistics of nondistinguishable particles. The metabrain, which produces the correlated streams of consciousness is assumed to have some characteristics of an ordinary brain, such as currents, synapses, and neurotransmitters. It is assumed that the firing of a "synapse" corresponds to a conscious experience. With these assumptions, we argue that the quantum probability amplitudes are proportional to the currents and, assuming an analogy to Ohms Law, that the quantum method of calculating probabilities by taking the magnitude squared of complex probability amplitudes (Born's Rule) results. Trois argumentations sont avancees pour les flux correles de modeles de conscience de la realite, avec les variables cachees non locales produites par un "metacerveau." La premiere argumentation est basee sur des particules accrochees. La seconde est basee sur la causalite mutuelle entre le monde "mentale" et le monde "physique", unissant ainsi les deux. La troisieme est basee sur les statistiques quantiques des particules nondistinguables. Le "metacerveau," qui produit le flux correle de conscience, est suppose avoir certaines caracteristiques d'un cerveau ordinaire, comme les courants, les synapses et les neurotransmetteurs. Il est suppose que le lancement d'une "synapse" correspond a une experience consciente. Avec ces hypotheses, nous affirmons que les amplitudes de probabilite quantique sont proportionnelles aux courants et, en supposant une analogie ala loi d'Ohm, que en resulte la methode de calcul des probabilites quantiques en prenant le carrede la magnitude des amplitudes de probabilite complexes (regle de Born).

    Description: Cosmological delayed choice, introduced by John Wheeler, shows how the past is made definite and unique, from a superposition off many possibilities, after present measurement possibly by telescopic observation of distant galaxies, for example. Neural Darwinism, introduced by Gerald Edelmann, describes how the nerves of the growing brain are depleted or thinned out by survival of the most activated. Thus the range of possible experiences is reduced. We adopt this neural Darwinism for the "metabrain," a concept introduced in earlier articles, and thus relate Wheeler's delayed choice to Edelmann's neural Darwinism within the context of the "metabrain and the quantum dream analogy." Ainsi, la gamme d'experiences possibles est reduite. Nous adoptons ce Darwinisme neuronal pour le "meta-cerveau," un concept introduit dans des articles precedents, en rapportant ainsi le choix retarde de Wheeler au darwinisme neuronal de Edelmann dans le contexte du "meta-cerveau et l'analogie du reve quantique."     Description: Thermal processing in the millisecond range provides advanced, non-equilibrium annealing techniques which allow dedicated material modifications at the surface without affecting the substrate volume below. The process called flash lamp annealing (FLA) is one of the most diverse methods of short time annealing with applications ranging from the classical field of semiconductor doping to the treatment of layers on glass, polymers and other flexible substrates. It still continues to extend to other material classes and applications, and becomes of interest for an increasing number of users. Other phrases for FLA used throughout the literature are intense pulsed light sintering (IPL) or photonic curing. This review presents a short and comprehensive view of the current state of the art of FLA with a focus on functional coatings. After an introduction including historical aspects a look is taken to equipment issues as well as to the pioneering role which semiconductor processing in the framework of advanced chip technology played for the development of short time annealing. Mostly, examples of processing for photovoltaics, including doping aspects, hydrogen engineering, copper indium gallium diselenide (CIGS), silicon crystallization on glass, and transparent conductive oxides (TCO), including indium tin oxide (ITO), zinc oxide (also Al-doped AZO) as well as inkjet printing for flexible electronics will be presented.

    Description: In 2016, the United States Supreme Court decided Sturgeon v. Frost, which posed the question of whether the federal government may regulate activities on nonfederal lands within the hundred million acres of land designated for preservation under a 1980 federal statute, the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act (ANILCA). The Court did not answer the question, instead vacating the Ninth Circuit’s interpretation of the relevant statutory language. Although inconsequential in itself, Sturgeon occupies a place in the history of litigation that originates in a rift between state and federal law governing subsistence hunting in Alaska. The source of the rift was an Alaska Supreme Court decision holding that the state constitution created a public trust guaranteeing a broad right of access to natural resources, including for hunting and fishing. Therefore, it found that a state statute granting rural Alaskans preference to engage in subsistence hunting, required for Alaska to manage hunting on federal lands under ANILCA, was unconstitutional. The state supreme court thus established Alaska as one of the few states that recognizes the public trust doctrine in wildlife enforceable against the state. Remarkably, the court did so at the cost to Alaska of controlling hunting on federal lands. Alaska zealously guards the use of its natural resources against federal control, as illustrated by the subsequent litigation over subsistence hunting that led to Sturgeon. That the court would relinquish state control of hunting on federal lands shows its commitment to a public trust in wildlife unparalleled by other states.

    Description: Shallow, Boron (B)-doped p + emitters have been realized using spin-on deposition and Flash Lamp Annealing (FLA) to diffuse B into monocrystalline float zone Silicon (Si). The emitters extend between 50 and 140 nm in depth below the surface, have peak concentrations between 9 × 10 19  cm –3 and 3 × 10 20  cm –3 , and exhibit sheet resistances between 70 and 3000 Ω/ □ . An exceptionally large increase in B diffusion occurs for FLA energy densities exceeding ∼93 J/cm 2 irrespective of 10 or 20 ms pulse duration. The effect is attributed to enhanced diffusion of B caused by Si interstitial injection following a thermally activated reaction between the spin-on diffusant film and the silicon wafer.

    Description: Textbooks and printed lectures have still failed to give a clear solution to the SchrOdinger cat problem [E. Schrodinger, Naturwissenschaften 23, 807 (1935)]. The solution is actually quite simple. Each observer has a different wave function. When Wigner's friend [E. P. Wigner, in The Scientist Speculates, edited by I. J. Good (Heinemann, London, 1961)] observes the cat, his friend's wave function collapses. When Wigner's friend tells me what he saw, my wave function collapses to probability 1 or 0 for the aliveness of the cat. It is a matter of Bayesian probability. Probability depends on information. The same is true for probability amplitudes. Each observer may have different information and thus different probability amplitudes. The collapse of the wave function is not a mysterious event; in fact, it is not an event at all. It is merely another way of saying that an observation has occurred. If you estimate the probability that your opponent in a poker game has the ace of diamonds, the probability changes drastically or "collapses" if you peek at his hand. La solution est pourtant assez simple. Chaque observateur possede une fonction d'onde differente. Lorsque l'ami de Wigner [E. P. Wigner, "Remarks on the mind-body question," in The Scientist Speculates, edited by I. J. Good (Heinemann, London, 1961)] observe le chat, la fonction d'onde de son ami s'effondre. Lorsque l'ami de Wigner me raconte ce qu'il a vu, ma fonction d'onde s'effondre en une probabilite 1 ou 0 correspondant au caractere vivant ou non du chat. Il s'agit d'un probleme de probabilite bayesienne. La probabilite depend de l'information. Ceci s'applique aussi aux amplitudes de probabilite. Chaque observateur peut avoir differentes informations, et donc differentes amplitudes de probabilite. L'effondrement de la fonction d'onde ne constitue pas un evenement mysterieux; ce n'est en fait meme pas un evenement. Il s'agit seulement d'une autre maniere de dire qu'une observation s'est produite. Si vous estimez la probabilite que votre adversaire de Poker possede l'as de diamant, la probabilite change radicalement (ou "s'effondre") des que vous jetez un coup d'reil a sa main.

    Description: The problem of entanglement as discussed by Einstein, Podolsky and Rosen (Einstein, 1935) and modified by Bohm is discussed using the analogy of the dreaming brain. A clear distinction must be made between correlations, even those called "spooky action at a distance", and causal events. It is shown that the metabrain model clarifies and helps to resolve the issues.
