Russia between East and West: Politics, Ideology, Diplomacy. The collection is a gesture of gratitude to the colleague, a longtime university teacher of Russian history at the Faculty of History at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” – Prof. Dimitur Vechev. The volume includes scholarly works of researchers from Bulgaria and Russia. They analyze various problems in the history of Russia in its various forms (Empire, Soviet Union, Russian Federation) during the long and turbulent period, covering the 19th, 20th and early 21st c. Various aspects of the Bulgarian-Russian relations are presented with more direct or indirect relation to the scientific research of Prof. Dimitur Vechev.
