Die Stiftung Hofmatt in Münchenstein bei Basel in ihrem Alterskompetenzzentrum rund 165 Plätze an. Zum Bauprojekt, das 2015 fertig gestellt wurde, gehört auch ein umfassendes Lichtkonzept, das speziell die Bedürfnisse demenziell Erkrankter berücksichtigt. Im Zusammenhang mit dem Bauprojekt zur Erweiterung der Stiftung Hofmatt in Münchenstein, Baselland, von 2011 bis 2015, haben wir uns intensiv mit dem Thema Licht auseinandergesetzt. Wie in anderen Bereichen wollten wir auch hier einen deutlichen Mehrwert für unsere Bewohnerinnen und Bewohner schaffen, da wir uns bewusst waren, dass die Beleuchtung einen grossen Einfluss auf Wohlbefinden, Stimmung und Wachheit haben kann.Durch die Zusammenarbeit mit verschiedenen Partnern sind wir auf das Thema Dämmerungssimulation gestossen, in welchem wir rasch ein noch kaum genutztes Potential für die Verbesserung der Lebensqualität bei Menschen mit Demenz erkannt haben. Das Projekt «Dynamische Dämmerungssimulation bei Menschen mit Demenz» hat eine bewegte Entstehungsgeschichte hinter sich. Umso erfreulicher ist es, dass dieses spannende Projekt mitsamt Pilotstudie letztendlich erfolgreich abgeschlossen werden konnte. Die Pilot-studie, in welcher die dynamischen Dämmerungssimulatoren getestet wurden, wurde in Zu-sammenarbeit mit Frau Prof. Dr. Anna Wirz-Justice (Zentrum für Chronobiologie, Universitäre Psychiatrische Kliniken Basel) und Dr. Vivien Bromundt (Schlaf-Wach-Epilepsie-Zentrum, Insel-spital Bern) unter der Leitung von PD Dr. Mirjam Münch (EPFL Lausanne, jetzt Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin) durchgeführt.
