Sein Reisebericht schildert die Herausforderungen dieses anderen Alltags, Begegnungen mit Menschen ganz unterschiedlicher Art, erzählt von Wellen und Seekrankheit sowie dem Zusammenleben und -raufen auf engem Raum an Bord. Seine Botschaft lautet stets: Erfülle deine Träume. Das Buch ist textdominiert, mit einigen Kartenskizzen zur Orientierung und einem Fotoblock mit kleinformatigen Bildern als Illustrierung. Es ist Lesestoff der besseren Art, der auch für seglerische Laien verständlich und als Fernwehlektüre für alle ein Genuss ist, die gern aufbrechen würden. "Per Anhalter über den Atlantik" (ID-A 11/19) klingt ähnlich, schildert aber den Törn zweier Abiturienten in die Karibik. (2)
