Monumenta Musicae in Polonia. Seria C, Tractatus de Musica [3]
Inhalt:
Source-critical edition of two theoretical-didactic treatises included in the manuscript Tabulatura organowa Jana z Lublina (1537-1548), the largest collection of organ music created in sixteenth-century Europe. Ad faciendum cantum choralem together with Fundamentum is a textbook of instrumental counterpoint for organists. Ad faciendam correcturam provides a brief description of organ tuning. The edition of the Latin text is accompanied by a translation into the Polish and English languages, as is the edition of both the transcription of music examples from the tablature given in the treatises, and the Fundamentum, included as a separate section in the source and providing a collection of patterns and formulae of instrumental counterpoint (music notation is also given in facsimileform). The volume also contains monographic and editorial introductions and commentaries. The publication contains a Polish and an English version of the edition.
