Ekz Rezension: Otfried Preußler schrieb auch für Erwachsene höchst vergnügliche, mit feiner Ironie gewürzte Erzählungen, beispielsweise jene vom kleinen Jesuskind auf der Flucht von Bethlehem nach Ägypten: Dass dabei die Mutter Gottes, alias Jungfrau Maria, mitsamt dem Kind und dessen nicht leiblichem Vater den Weg durch Nordböhmen gewählt hat, dessen möchte der Autor vollständig gewiss gewesen sein. Mehr noch: Er ist sich jedes Städtchens, Dörfleins, Berges sicher, die sie dabei passierten und schildert, wie sie ihren Häschern haben entkommen können. Denn der Kindermörder Herodes hatte auf dem Wege der Amtshilfe den zivilen und polizeilichen Apparat der k.-u.-k.-Monarchie von Wien über Prag bis in das entlegendste Gebirgskaff in Bewegung gesetzt, um ihrer habhaft zu werden - was schließlich misslingt, weil ein bußfertiger Gendarm die Seiten wechselt und die Verfolgten samt ihrem Esel ins Schlesische hat entkommen lassen. Musikalisch begleitet vom Duo de Clarinettes-Basses gestaltet Berhard Setzwein diese märchenhaft-biblische Geschichte warmherzig und nuancenreich zu einem kurzweiligen Sprach- und Vortragskunstwerk!
