Content: Am 24. Dezember wacht die kleine Elise mit dem merkwürdigen Gefühl auf, dass dieser Tag ein besonderer ist. Doch sie kann sich einfach nicht erinnern. Auch ihr Vater und die anderen Bewohner des Dorfes können ihr nicht helfen, denn dort,wo Elise herkommt, sind die Menschen sehr, sehr vergesslich. Als Elise auf dem Dachboden einen verstaubten Holzkasten mit 24 bemalten Türchen findet, auf dem "Fröhliche Weihnachten" steht, glaubt sie, eine heiße Spur zur Lösung des Rätsels gefunden zu haben. Sie macht sich auf den Weg zum Tischler des Kastens, der den Ernst der Lage sofort erkennt: Das gesamte Dorf hat das Weihnachtsfest vergessen. Er kennt nur einen, der ihnen jetzt noch helfen kann ein Mann mit weißem Rausche bart und rotem Mantel, von dem Elisenoch nie etwas gehört hat. Doch viel Zeit bleibt den dreien nicht mehr, um die Erinnerungen der Dorfbewohner an die schönste Zeit des Jahres wieder zu erwecken. Für Elise beginnt eine unvergessliche Nacht voller Wunder.
