Im Frühjahr 1968 versuchte die tschechoslowakische Kommunistische Partei unter Alexander Dubcek, die Erstarrungen des Sowjetkommunismus in der Tschechoslowakei aufzubrechen und neue, demokratische Wege zu beschreiten. Mit dem Einmarsch der Truppen des Warschauer Paktes im August desselben Jahres wurde der Prager Frühling gewaltsam unterdrückt. 40 Jahre danach reflektiert der Autor im Dialog mit dem Historiker, Politologen und Zeitzeugen Michal Reiman, damals als tschechischer Reformkommunist in das Geschehen involviert, die Ereignisse von damals.
