Hermeneutische Untersuchungen zur Theologie 53
Inhalt:
"Mirela Oliva focuses on Gadamer's interpretation of the Christian concept verbum interius in order to work out the speculative potential of hermeneutics. The verbum interius reconfigures indeed some of the most important philosophical topics: God, subjectivity, creativity, corporeality. Gadamer's recourse to Augustine, Thomas Aquinas and Cusanus shows the relevance of theological questions for his hermeneutics, despite his hesitation to connect philosophy with religion. By means of verbum interius, it is also possible to understand the hermeneutic way of proceeding based on the category of event. The hermeneutic interpretation of verbum interius constitutes an original voice in the broad debate about inner language that ranges from medieval studies to analytical philosophy. The author emphasizes Gadamer's contribution to the recovery of the medieval tradition of verbum interius as well as his peculiarity in comparison with other contemporary authors concerned with the inner language"--Mohr Siebeck.
