Abstract: New features are reported in images of 90° walls in (001) nickel platelets using the technique of Lorentz microscopy on tilted specimens. Results are presented for platelets in the thickness range 1800 to 4000 Å. The features observed are interpreted in terms of the theoretical model for an asymmetrical Néel‐type wall. The interpretation of features observed along 90° walls in (001) iron films could not be applied to the present work. Detail observed at the junctions between wall sections is consistent with the existence of symmetrical Néel walls between the asymmetrical Néel‐type sections. An unusual 180° wall is also reported.
