Abstract: Gemäß § 1 Abs. 1 des Lebensmittel‐, Bedarfsgegenstände‐ und Futtermittelhandbuchs (LFBG) vom 01.09.2005 sind “Lebensmittel (LM) alle Stoffe oder Erzeugnisse, die dazu bestimmt sind oder von denen nach vernünftigem Ermessen erwartet werden kann, dass sie in verarbeitetem, teilweise verarbeitetem oder unverarbeitetem Zustand von Menschen aufgenommen werden”. In diesem Zusammenhang ist es u.a. die Pflicht der Hersteller bzw. Inverkehrbringer sicherzustellen, dass vom üblichen (bestimmungsgemäßen) Verzehr des betreffenden LM keine Gesundheitsgefahren für den Verbraucher ausgehen. Damit ist grundsätzlich davon auszugehen, dass LM ‘sicher’, d.h. toxikologisch nicht weiter zu hinterfragen bzw. zu überprüfen sind.
