Bei der Diagnosestellung befinden sich die meisten Patienten bereits in fortgeschrittenen Tumorstadien mit Langzeitüberlebensraten unter 40%, trotz intensiver multimodaler Therapie. Neuroblastoma is the most common extracranial solid tumor in childhood. At initial diagnosis most patients are in advanced tumor-stage with long-term survival less than 40%, despite of intensive multimodal therapy. Furthermore the necessary aggressive medical treatment is associated with serious short- and long-term toxicities. Therefore the development of more effective and less toxic therapies is urgently needed. The epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is a promising target for specific tumor-therapy. ...
