Abstract: Hohe Magnetfelder können Materialien in neue Zustände versetzen. Sie erlauben zudem Präzisionsmessungen, die unser heutiges Wissen über die elektronischen, magnetischen und thermodynamischen Materialeigenschaften entscheidend erweitern können. Das Hochfeld‐Magnetlabor Dresden besitzt eine technisch aufwendige Anlage mit einer Doppelspule, die gepulste Magnetfelder bis 100 T zerstörungsfrei produzieren soll. Die Pulslänge von etwa zehn Millisekunden ist im Vergleich zu den zu erforschenden Phänomenen so lang, dass das Magnetfeld quasistatisch ist. Erste experimentelle Resultate in gepulsten Magnetfeldern bis 70 T zeigen das Potenzial dieser Forschungsanlage, die nun der Forschung zur Verfügung steht.
