"The genus Corbicula is distributed over all continents with the exception of Antarctica. In Germany it wasconfirmed for the first time in the 1980s and two species are now confirmed as established: C. fluminea and C.fluminalis. This study covers the city area of Bremen and is composed of two projects. The first one, under-taken in 2016, was a mapping of the present bivalve taxa. The second one was completed in 2018 and includeda supplementary mapping and the collection of abundance and substrate preference data for the genus Cor-bicula. At the 48 sample locations C. fluminea, C. fluminalis, and a third, still not reliably identified morpho-type C. HB were confirmed. The Corbicula type “HB” does not morphologically match the established ones. Its form and colour are stable and significantly different from the other two Corbicula taxa. It could belongto the North American lineage “B”. To assure the taxonomic classification of the Corbicula type “HB” ge-netic analyses are necessary" (Abstract)
