Es wird verdeutlicht, daß sich an den Fragen der Autonomie und des freien Willens die Einstellung zum Suizid ebenso mißt wie die ethische Position der Helfer. Wird die Autonomie als höchstes Gut gesetzt, so wird diese bei Suizidalität ad absurdum geführt - wird der Suizid aber von Helfern implizit als grundsätzlich verwerflich angenommen, wird sich diese Einstellung beziehungshemmend auf das Fürsorgeprinzip auswirken, das erst die Grundlage dafür ist, den Betroffenen abwägen zu helfen, was für sie gut ist und was nicht.
