Content: This edition of Die Nibelungen is more than 100 minutes longer than any version previously available in the U.S. and restores Lang's materwork to its full glory. Extras: Footage of Fritz Lang on the set (1,5 min.). Production design and special effects sketches by Erich Kettelhut (intercut with scenes from the films, 5 Min.). Comparison of the dragon-slaying scenes from Siegfried and The Thief of Bagdad (the original production design, a photo of Lang filming the sequence, the sequence itself, and a similar scene from Douglas Fairbank's Thief of Baghdad, 1924). Original 1924 score by Gottfried Huppertz, performed by the Munich Radio Orchestra. Essay by film scholar Jan-Christopher Horak (text).
