Memory and conflict seem to be an inseparable pair. Especially when it comes to the construction of narratives concerning violent past. In Latin America they have thus demonstrated not only the controversial nature of the memories of the past dictatorial and internal conflicts in recent history, but also the memories of past colonial armed conflicts.
