Ausgangspunkt ist ein Verständnis von Sklaverei als Kapitalisierung menschlicher Körper. Analysiert werden die unterschiedlichsten Typen der Sklaverei - auf allen Kontinenten, in ihrer jeweiligen Benennung und in ihrem historischen Kontext. Auf breiter empirischer Basis entsteht auf diese Weise eine Geschichte der Sklaverei, die ca. 10.000 v. Chr. begann und bis in die heutige Zeit andauert.
