Summary
The paper describes a method for numerically solving an elliptic type differential equation connected with a diffusion problem with superimposed convection. The method consists in replacing the differential equation by a set of simultaneous difference equations which are solved exactly, thus avoiding difficulties inherent to the relaxation method. An example is treated in detail and the truncation error is discussed.
